They do this because mortgage brokers offer home buyers with more options and a wider selection of loan products.  We are a "prime" lending firm, making only good loans - safe and secure.  We have wholesale access to mortgage programs with deals much better than the retail branch of that same lender can offer.  In May 2008 I saved a customer .75% plus one point wholesaling the loan competing against that same major bank's retail branch and this borrower was a bank customer of the lender.  That is major savings and an excellent example of what we can do for our customers.  Our knowledge and connections allows us to work for the customer first.  We do not work for the lenders and we are on a different level than a retail loan officer that is an employee of a bank or mortgage company.
